Washi paper light garlands

Courant d'air and Points de suspension make up Céline Wright's suspended garland collection, 2 compositions that repeat the cocoon shape in miniature along a length of wire. Both compositions can be sized by wire length and number of cocoons, to fit the width of a wall or a table. Each washi paper cocoon is hand-shaped in Montreuil before being strung along a suspended line, designed to run above a table, along a wall or cascading down a staircase. Japanese paper, lighter and more translucent than fabric, lets a pinpoint of light filter through each cocoon, like a string of small lanterns. This Japanese paper light garland suits an interior as well as a covered terrace, for decorative rather than functional lighting.
