For Céline Wright, craftsmanship is also an ecological choice. Her lights are made in Montreuil or by a network of people working from home, a model inspired by the "cottage industry" that limits transport. Washi, made from kozo fibres, and natural glues complete the approach. In 30 years, this way of making has not changed, even as new collections have been added every year.
Paper shapes that slide along a cable
A garland is made of small shapes, each crafted separately in washi paper before being mounted on the cable. On Points de suspension, they slide along a cable weighted by a white marble pebble, so the spacing can be adjusted once the garland is installed. On Courant d'air, one cable is held taut by the weight of a pebble while the other winds around the cocoons.

Number of cocoons, sizes, cable length, power point: each parameter is set according to your space to compose a unique garland.
Smaller sizes
A few cocoons on a short cable are enough to light a reading corner or an alcove, with the same delicate paper.
Larger sizes
On rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, 3 garlands of 10 Envol lights descend 25 m through a stairwell, a project created for the agency Archibuild.
