The cocoon, where it all began
In 1996, Céline Wright self-published her first lights: hanging cocoons of Japanese paper. 30 years later, the Cocon collection is still at the heart of her work, and Giboulée, her oldest model, remains one of the most requested. Her pendant lights have since grown in scale, from the clouds of Cumulus to the wide domes of Éclaircie, gilded with copper leaf. In May 2026, Le Figaro illustrated its feature on organic lighting with a Cocons pendant, describing washi that "diffuses a soft light like an enveloping cocoon".
Up to 1,600 paper strips for a single shell
A large pendant light is built strip by strip. In Montreuil, our artisans lay washi paper over a mould and fix it with a brush and natural glue, using more than 1,600 strips for one shell. Once dry, the shapes are assembled by hand: the largest models take up to 4 days of work. The result stays light. Cirrus, designed for large spaces, weighs 5 kg for a span of 2.20 m.

Smaller sizes
An entrance, a corridor or a low ceiling calls for more compact volumes. The collection's models can be scaled down while keeping the same strip technique and the same quality of light.
Larger sizes
For the Groupama headquarters on rue d'Astorg in Paris, Céline Wright composed a sky of 9 Cirrus and 11 Nuages with the architecture firm Kardham. See the project
