"Dialogue of light and washi"
For one weekend, a special exhibition organized with our Japanese partner, Hiyoshiya, was held at the French Pavilion of the World Exposition in Osaka-Kansai. We presented Céline's work on light and washi paper, as well as Hiyoshiya's traditional umbrella making. Their love for handmade work and washi paper unites them.
Presentation of the "Cocoon" model created especially for Japan, workshops, installations and performances staged with the collaboration of calligrapher Hiroshi Ueta... Two days to introduce the Japanese —and not only them— to Céline Wright's universe. A return to her roots and a consecration for the artist-designer whose destiny is inextricably linked to the land of the rising sun.
